I started Comforts & Blessings in order to provide women facing cancer with both useful and beautiful gifts. Since, the company began I have often been asked why I chose these particular items. I have come to realize that most people are not familiar with the needs of someone receiving chemotherapy. I hope this post will help clarify some important points.

Most chemotherapy treatments are over 2 hours long. Many women get cold at this time. That is why I chose the Shoulder Cozy. It is a super soft blanket to wrap around your shoulders with pockets for your hands.It is a wonderful companion post-chemo treatments also. Most patients receive their chemo treatment in recliners. Many like to take off their shoes, hence the slipper socks. They are Karen Neuberger's answer to clouds for your feet. I have found nothing softer or more comfortable. Hair loss is an unfortunate and highly distressing side effect of many chemo regimens. Most women lose their hair between the first and second treatments. This is such a difficult time that shopping for head wear is often low on the list. How wonderful to send a beautiful, soft hat that they can reach for at their time of need. Lastly, since there are so many other things that a woman battling cancer needs I have included an Angel that "carries the blessings of all those who love you". My hope is that these simple words bring them comfort and that they realize that they are not alone.
