My name is Ines Rodriguez and this is the first entry in my new blog. Welcome. It is my hope to share some of the things I have learned in my journey as a breast cancer survivor and oncology nurse. The nurse part I sought since childhood. The survivor part I earned via DCIS, a lumpectomy, several biopsies, Piaget’s disease and finally a right breast mastectomy. Incredibly these words afforded me entry into a sisterhood that no one wants to join ….whose language is unique and whose members include some of the finest humans ever to walk this earth. I cherish their company, wisdom and support. They are my fellow breast cancer survivors. I salute them.
I hope you will join me and share some of the things that you have learned on your own journey with cancer. Together we can encourage, educate, and hopefully inspire others who are traveling the same road. We are not alone.
