Dear Friend,

Welcome to our website. I know you are here because your life or the life of a loved one has been touched by breast cancer. I hope we’ll be able to help you find “Comforts and Blessings,” that is our purpose.

This company was started by my desire to help provide women facing breast cancer with a beautiful gift. A gift that would help her feel all the love and good wishes being sent her way. A gift filled with items that would comfort her during this difficult time.

I am an oncology nurse who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001. I was first treated with a lumpectomy, then after more cancer was found I had a mastectomy in 2003. I was 41 years old with three kids: ages 10, 7 and 5. Coincidentally, the office of the physician who diagnosed me needed a chemotherapy nurse. He offered me the position and so began one of the most fulfilling periods of my personal and professional life.

Every day I met other survivors who became my patients and friends. Their stories touched my life in beautiful ways. Each woman was a blessing. Their courage, dignity and strength inspired me to reach higher, do more, be better.

In July of 2005, I decided to stop working as an oncology nurse in order to spend more time with my family and to start a support group for survivors of breast cancer in my area. Comforts and Blessings was born shortly after.
